Make a significant impact as a Special Education Teacher working with 5th grade students in a supportive school setting near Warwick, RI. This full-time contract opportunity offers a blend of resource and co-taught or push-in settings, providing an engaging and dynamic environment to help students achieve academic growth throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted instruction in reading and/or writing to a caseload of nine students, with overall services reaching 15-17 students.
  • Teach one period of resource and three to four periods of either co-taught or push-in classroom support.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support.
  • Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and adjust instruction to meet evolving student needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with families and staff regarding student development.
  • Adhere to school policies and uphold all professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current RI teaching license and certification in Special Education (or in process, with willingness to obtain before start).
  • Commitment to securing a National BCI, if not already held.
  • Experience supporting elementary students in a resource or inclusion setting preferred.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
