This full-time role is tailored for a dedicated Special Education Teacher eager to make an impact on 5th-grade students. You’ll manage a manageable caseload and collaborate closely with general education teachers, providing essential support where it’s needed most.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Rhode Island teaching license and certification required
  • Willingness to obtain a National Background Check (BCI)
  • Experience supporting elementary students with special needs is highly valued
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate resource instruction for one class period daily
  • Deliver direct and push-in/co-taught special education support across 3-4 periods
  • Service a caseload of 9 students, with support extending to 15-17 for reading and/or writing interventions
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure student success
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress
  • Provide differentiated instruction, maintain documentation, and communicate regularly with parents and team members
  • Work Monday through Friday, 7:45am–2:45pm, starting as soon as possible through the end of the school year
