This full-time role is tailored for a dedicated Special Education Teacher eager to make an impact on 5th-grade students. You’ll manage a manageable caseload and collaborate closely with general education teachers, providing essential support where it’s needed most.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Rhode Island teaching license and certification required
- Willingness to obtain a National Background Check (BCI)
- Experience supporting elementary students with special needs is highly valued
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate resource instruction for one class period daily
- Deliver direct and push-in/co-taught special education support across 3-4 periods
- Service a caseload of 9 students, with support extending to 15-17 for reading and/or writing interventions
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure student success
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress
- Provide differentiated instruction, maintain documentation, and communicate regularly with parents and team members
- Work Monday through Friday, 7:45am–2:45pm, starting as soon as possible through the end of the school year
