Special Education Teacher in Warwick, RI

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid mild to moderate or severe Special Education teaching license required
• Prior experience working in an elementary classroom or with developmental needs preferred
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to tailor instruction
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and administration
• Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture
• Flexible mindset and creative approach to addressing student needs

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to students’ unique learning requirements
• Assess student progress and adapt instructional methods as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely records of student performance and IEP goals
• Work in partnership with classroom aides, fellow teachers, and related service providers
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, sharing progress and strategies
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the overall school community
• Support students’ social, emotional, and academic growth every day
