Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid mild to moderate or severe Special Education teaching license required
- Prior experience working in an elementary classroom or with developmental needs preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to tailor instruction
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and administration
- Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture
- Flexible mindset and creative approach to addressing student needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to students’ unique learning requirements
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional methods as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely records of student performance and IEP goals
- Work in partnership with classroom aides, fellow teachers, and related service providers
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, sharing progress and strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the overall school community
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic growth every day
