Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required; Master’s preferred
- Prior experience working in a school environment supporting students with exceptionalities
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation, progress monitoring, and adapting curriculum to individual needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with various instructional strategies and behavioral management practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized education plans that address students’ specific learning needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, parents, and support staff to foster student success
- Utilize evidence-based teaching methods and accommodations to promote academic and social-emotional growth
- Track and document student progress, making timely adjustments to instructional strategies as needed
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities
