Special Education Teacher | Warwick, Rhode Island

Make a meaningful impact working as a Special Education Teacher within a supportive elementary setting. This contract position offers the opportunity to guide and inspire students ages 9-10 in a self-contained classroom, focusing primarily on learners with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The role is full-time, with 37.5 hours scheduled each week, providing you with consistency and a chance to foster positive growth in your students.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state requirements must be met)
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s preferred
• Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Strong communication and collaborative skills for coordinating with support staff and parents
• Patience, creativity, and adaptability in modifying instruction and materials
• Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and IEP implementation

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
• Implement evidence-based strategies to support students’ academic and social progress
• Foster a nurturing, structured classroom environment that encourages engagement and independence
• Collaborate closely with speech, occupational, and behavioral therapists
• Communicate progress and updates to parents, caregivers, and other educational professionals
• Maintain accurate records and compliance with all reporting and documentation requirements
