Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification for K-2, or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly those with social/emotional learning needs
  • Familiarity with hybrid resource models and ability to adapt instructional approaches
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with support staff, teachers, and families
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable teaching style

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Provide direct instruction to students with varying levels of need, including both resource-level and higher-need support within the classroom
  • Foster a safe, supportive classroom that encourages social/emotional growth as well as academic progress
  • Collaborate with team members and families to ensure continuity of care and support
  • Collect and track data on student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
