Bridge 2 classrooms cater to students who participate in the general education curriculum with substantial modifications to content and pace, emphasizing social skills and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver small and whole group instruction tailored to individual needs aligned with Common Core standards.
- Implement explicit social skills instruction throughout the daily schedule.
- Utilize applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies to increase motivation and reduce behavioral challenges.
- Facilitate structured inclusion opportunities in general education classrooms according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize student learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Special Education.
- Experience teaching K-2 students in a non-categorical or inclusive setting.
- Knowledge of modifying curriculum to meet diverse learner needs.
- Proficient in delivering ABA supports and using assistive communication technology.
- Strong communication skills to support student engagement and IEP team collaboration.
Location:
- Washington, DC – established early childhood school setting.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
