This full-time contract role spans both the upcoming summer session and the entire 2025-2026 school year, providing continuity and impact as a valued Special Education Teacher. You’ll work a consistent 37.5-hour week, using your expertise to create a positive and inclusive educational environment.
Your key qualifications:
- Hold an active Illinois LBSI (Learning Behavior Specialist I) certification
- Possess a Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience working with high school students, preferably in a Special Education setting
- Strong commitment to individualized instruction and collaborative practices
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Notable responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering engaging instruction tailored to diverse learners
- Developing and implementing IEPs to ensure each student’s success
- Collaborating closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Creating a safe, supportive classroom environment that fosters growth and independence
- Managing daily classroom operations and documentation effectively
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and ongoing professional development
