Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting 4th grade students in a vibrant elementary school environment. This role is available for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year and focuses on delivering high-quality ELA instruction through both co-teaching and targeted resource support, structured around an 80/20 instructional split. Collaborate closely with general education staff to ensure differentiated instruction and inclusive practices, making a real difference in students’ academic and personal growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Special Education Teacher certification; open to candidates with active licensure from any state (DMV area preferred).
  • Previous experience in special education settings, particularly at the elementary level.
  • Strong knowledge of ELA content and best practices for individualized instruction.
  • Comfortable with co-teaching models and providing resource support.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach ELA in the 4th grade classroom, working as part of an instructional team.
  • Provide targeted support and interventions for students with diverse learning needs (approximate 80/20 split between co-teaching and resource).
  • Create and implement IEPs, track student progress, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent communications, and collaborative planning.
  • Support school-wide initiatives for equity, inclusion, and positive learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education policies.

This full-time contract position is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering 40 hours per week. Candidates can expect compensation aligned with recent contract rates.
