This rewarding contract role runs until December 18, 2026, and calls for an enthusiastic educator to support 5th and 6th grade students in a fast-paced math environment.
As a collaborative partner, you’ll coteach both 5th grade Accelerated Math and 6th grade Prealgebra classes alongside general education staff, delivering an accelerated curriculum. Your students typically perform 1-2 grade levels ahead, making this an excellent fit for those who thrive on guiding motivated learners. The role includes four 50-minute teaching periods daily and two dedicated 50-minute co-planning periods, supporting your efforts to craft effective strategies and interventions.
What you'll bring:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Prior experience working with students on advanced or accelerated curriculum preferred
- Strong background in math instruction (Invision math experience is a plus)
- Proficiency in writing IEPs and implementing SDI
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, especially with parents and school teams
- Willingness to provide individualized pull-out math instruction to a small group (approximately 6 students), with a total caseload of 8-10 students
Key responsibilities:
- Coteach 5th and 6th grade math content in a dynamic classroom setting
- Plan and co-design lessons during protected co-planning periods
- Personalize instruction through specialized pull-out settings
- Develop, monitor, and revise IEPs as needed
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents to support student growth and achievement
