Details:
- Full-time, onsite role
- Coverage from late September to the end of December
- Serve 6th-8th grade students, managing a caseload of 20
- Resource room primary setting with additional co-teaching responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education (SPED) License is required
- Experience working in middle school settings (grades 6-8) is strongly preferred
- Confidence in managing a resource room and balancing documentation for a moderate caseload
- Strong collaborative skills for effective co-teaching and partnerships with faculty
- Solid knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and instructional strategies to meet diverse needs
- Commitment, adaptability, and positive rapport-building with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and interventions in a resource room for students with varied learning profiles
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement co-taught lessons
- Develop, monitor, and maintain IEPs, ensuring compliance and personalized support
- Communicate routinely with families and staff to promote student progress
- Track and report on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals for each student
- Foster a safe, inclusive environment for every learner
