Your assignment begins immediately and continues through the end of December, making a meaningful impact during a pivotal portion of the school year. This is a full-time contract position, with a typical day spanning about 7 hours (anticipated schedule is approximately 8:25 AM to 3:25 PM, subject to slight adjustments).
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification for the state of Connecticut
- Prior experience working with elementary or middle grade special education students preferred
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and effective differentiation practices
- Strong communication skills for engaging families, students, and staff
- Ability to collaborate with related service providers and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in a self-contained classroom for grades 4-6
- Implement IEPs, track progress, and provide regular updates to families and administration
- Create a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere tailored to varied learning needs
- Collaborate with aides, therapists, and other teachers to optimize student outcomes
- Maintain organized records and foster open, positive communication
