Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for high school level
  • Experience delivering individualized and small group instruction
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers and related service providers
  • A commitment to nurturing students’ academic, social, and emotional growth

Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach or provide resource support in high school general education classrooms, adapting lessons to meet diverse needs
  • Lead instruction in a self-contained setting for neurodiverse students, differentiating curriculum and fostering a supportive environment
  • Create, implement, and monitor effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Utilize data-driven methods to evaluate student progress and make necessary adjustments
  • Promote self-advocacy, independence, and problem-solving skills among students
  • Engage in ongoing communication with families, staff, and administrators
  • Maintain thorough records, assessments, and progress updates
