Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families
- Adaptable to different learning styles and needs
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
Responsibilities:
- Create and adapt instructional materials to meet individualized student needs
- Provide direct instruction in both small groups and one-on-one settings
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Develop, review, and update IEPs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share progress and strategies
- Employ positive behavioral interventions and support students’ social-emotional development
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education
