This position serves a small, highly supported caseload, allowing for individualized instruction and meaningful relationship-building with students.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized and small-group instruction within a self-contained SEL setting

Implement IEP goals focusing on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth

Support students with emotional and behavioral needs using trauma-informed and SEL-based practices

Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and administration
-
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education requirements

Communicate regularly with families and the multidisciplinary team
Qualifications:

Active Connecticut Special Education certification

Experience working in self-contained or SEL/behavior-focused programs preferred

Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills

Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students
