In this role, you will guide a self-contained autism program for 2nd and 3rd-grade students. With an August 11th start date and a full-year contract, you'll immerse yourself in specialized instruction while fostering an inclusive, compassionate classroom community.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement (Autism endorsement or direct experience strongly preferred)
  • Previous experience in a self-contained classroom or with autism programs highly valued
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and student growth
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for a travel assignment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, supportive instruction to 2nd–3rd-grade students in a self-contained autism classroom
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with general education, support staff, and families
  • Track and report student progress, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment, encouraging independence and confidence
