Resource classes are intentionally small, allowing you to connect deeply with each student and tailor your instruction to meet their needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Special Education Teaching credentials (LBSI or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting students in resource and co-taught classroom settings
  • Strong understanding of instructional strategies for middle school learners
  • Comfort working independently, yet collaborative within a building-wide team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support 8th-grade students in both co-taught and resource settings
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to diverse needs
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related service providers
  • Create inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom experiences
  • Monitor student progress and adapt instructional approaches accordingly
  • Maintain documentation and parent communication as required

The contract runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027, aligning with the school year, with 35 hours per week and a dedicated 30-minute lunch break daily. New hires may also have the opportunity to attend a robust orientation prior to the school year’s start.
