Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for Illinois schools
  • Experience with self-contained, cross-categorical, life skills, or early childhood special education settings preferred
  • Strong ability to develop and implement IEPs and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
  • Flexibility and compassion in working with diverse student populations
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction tailored to students’ individual educational plans
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
  • Assess student progress and modify instruction as needed
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and effective communication with parents and related service staff
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel

Choose from a variety of schedule options, including:

  • Intermediate school student hours: 9:05 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
  • Primary school kindergarten and early childhood sessions, with morning and afternoon schedule variations
