The assignment runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027, covering approximately 35 hours a week, with dates for new staff training to be announced.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification for K-5th grade
- Experience working with self-contained classrooms preferred
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management skills and commitment to inclusive education
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with staff and families
- Adaptability and positivity when supporting diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to K-5 students with varied abilities in a self-contained classroom setting
- Create engaging, differentiated lesson plans in alignment with IEP goals and state standards
- Monitor academic progress and adjust practices to meet student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
- Maintain accurate records, document interventions, and participate in IEP meetings
