You’ll work closely with an enthusiastic team to implement individualized instruction, support social-emotional development, and create a nurturing space where every child is valued and empowered. This is an excellent opportunity for those experienced in or drawn to autism-focused programs, looking to apply best practices and further develop specialized skills.
What you’ll bring:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience with or strong interest in autism programming; autism endorsement preferred
- Commitment to differentiated instruction, behavioral supports, and inclusive teaching strategies
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with support staff, families, and related service providers
- Demonstrated patience, creativity, and a growth mindset
- Prior special education classroom experience at the elementary level is highly valued
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering tailored instruction for students in 2nd and 3rd grades
- Developing and implementing IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Managing individualized supports, accommodations, and behavior plans
- Tracking progress and maintaining accurate documentation
- Engaging thoughtfully with families to support student success
- Creating a classroom community that celebrates each learner’s strengths
