Special Education Teacher in Waukegan, IL

Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a PreK blended classroom for children ages 3-5. This contract position offers a structured daily schedule from 7:45 AM to 2:30 PM, allowing you to balance meaningful work with your personal life. What we’re looking for:

• Current Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) in Illinois
• Experience or strong interest in early childhood special education
• Familiarity with IEP development, data collection, and progress monitoring
• Strong collaboration skills and enthusiasm for team teaching
• Ability to adapt instruction and classroom environment to meet diverse student needs
• Compassion, creativity, and patience in working with young children

In this role, you will:

• Plan and implement developmentally-appropriate special education instruction for PreK students
• Collaborate daily with the general education teacher and paraprofessionals
