Math Math Special Education Teacher in Waukegan, IL

Empower students by making a difference as a High School Math Special Education teacher in a rewarding school-based contract role for the remainder of the academic year. In this role, you’ll work directly with high school students, helping them navigate Pre-Calculus and other math concepts, while ensuring instructional strategies are tailored to diverse learning needs. Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
• Demonstrated experience or endorsement in secondary-level mathematics instruction
• Proficiency in teaching math subjects, including Pre-Calculus, within special education and general education classrooms
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

What You’ll Do:

• Teach high school level Pre-Calculus and math courses to students with varying abilities
• Design differentiated lesson plans aligned with individual education plans (IEPs) and curriculum standards
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote student success
