This opportunity offers a rewarding teaching experience within an in-person classroom environment, beginning in September and focusing on grades 11-12. Desired Qualifications:

  • Active New York State Special Education Teaching license, including all required endorsements and certifications
  • Previous experience in special education or working with students with Emotional Disabilities (ED) preferred
  • Ability to adapt instruction and classroom management strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, collaborating effectively with colleagues, students, and families
  • Dedication to creating a supportive, equitable classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver specialized instruction for students in grades 11-12 with emotional disabilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) ensuring goals align with each student's needs
  • Monitor progress, maintain detailed records, and regularly communicate updates to team members and families
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address behavioral, academic, and social-emotional needs
  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom climate supporting the academic and personal growth of all learners

Assignment Overview:

  • Contract duration: September 8, 2026 – October 30, 2026
  • Weekly commitment: 35 hours, in-person at the designated site
