Key Qualifications:

• Active New York State teaching license with a High School endorsement
• Certified for work in an ED classroom setting
• Experience teaching or substituting in a Special Education high school classroom
• Familiarity with strategies for supporting students with a variety of learning and behavioral needs
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction to 11th and 12th-grade students in a high school ED classroom
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individuals’ educational goals
• Foster a structured, positive environment that encourages academic and personal growth
• Collaborate with support staff, including Teacher’s Assistants as needed
• Maintain records of student progress and communicate regularly with staff and families
