Special Education Teacher in Waxahachie, TX

Key Qualifications:

• Current and active Special Education teaching license/certification recognized in Texas
• Additional certification in secondary math required
• Experience working with high school students in a special education setting is strongly preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to high school students according to individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs, emphasizing secondary math concepts
• Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
• Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
