Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Special Education teaching license/certification recognized in Texas
- Additional certification in secondary math required
- Experience working with high school students in a special education setting is strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to high school students according to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs, emphasizing secondary math concepts
- Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
