Special Education Teacher | Wayne, New Jersey

This opportunity is designed for an experienced Special Education Teacher to deliver personalized support to one student currently residing in a long-term care facility. With a focused schedule of 10 hours per week, you’ll have the flexibility to tailor sessions across three or more days, creating an impactful learning environment that fits both your availability and the student’s needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
• Strong understanding of individualized instruction and accommodations
• Ability to collaborate with care staff and follow educational plans
• Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct Special Education services to one preschool student in a long-term care setting
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lessons aligned with the student’s IEP goals
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of the child
• Track progress and document student growth and areas needing additional support
• Communicate regularly with care facility staff and other professionals involved in the student’s development
• Adhere to professional guidelines and maintain required documentation
