Special Education Teacher - Wayne, NJ

A rewarding opportunity awaits a Special Education Teacher passionate about making a difference in a supportive school environment. This contract position involves working in a specialized setting, providing targeted instruction to self-contained groups of students during morning and afternoon sessions. The assignment begins November 2, 2026, through March 25, 2027, with the possibility of an earlier start date in mid-October, depending on the duration of the current leave of absence.

As the educator for two small groups, you will create a nurturing and structured learning atmosphere for three students each session—mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and afternoons from 12:50 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. You’ll be essential in fostering individual growth, supporting differentiated instruction, and collaborating with a dedicated school team.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Previous experience working with self-contained classrooms or similar environments
• Strong knowledge of best practices in special education and individualized lesson planning
