Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Holds a valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience working with high school students in a special education setting preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of IEP development, case management, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to foster an inclusive classroom environment and adapt instruction to diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Provide direct instruction in accordance with IEP goals and outlined curriculum
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
- Conduct assessments, gather data, and maintain accurate records of student progress and needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-based team initiatives
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to support student participation and growth
- Encourage student independence and self-advocacy skills
