Key qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license in North Carolina
• Proven experience supporting students with autism and effective behavior management strategies preferred
• Comfort with all aspects of student care, including toileting and diapering as needed
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with fellow educators, support staff, and families
• Compassionate, adaptable, and dedicated to fostering student independence and growth

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction for K-3 students in a self-contained classroom (currently 4-5 students, with a potential increase)
• Create positive, inclusive classroom routines that support diverse learning and behavioral needs
• Implement and track IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
• Collaborate with team members to support holistic student development
• Provide structured guidance in developing academic, social, and self-help skills
• Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and needs
