Make a meaningful difference every day by working as a Special Education Teacher focused on an adapted curriculum for 2nd and 3rd graders in a supportive elementary school environment. This full-time, contract position involves teaching a small, engaged class of approximately 10 students with the assistance of two experienced teaching assistants. You'll provide intensive intervention within a structured schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, ensuring each student receives personalized support and education.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education
  • Previous experience in an elementary school setting, preferably with 2nd or 3rd grade students
  • Training or experience in delivering adapted curriculum and intensive intervention
  • Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and differentiated instruction strategies
  • Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and track student progress
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead instruction for a small group of 2nd and 3rd grade students requiring adapted curriculum and intensive support
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to individual student needs in collaboration with teaching assistants
  • Engage in data collection and progress monitoring for ongoing student assessment
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, fellow educators, and support staff to optimize learning outcomes
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
  • Foster meaningful relationships with students and their families
