Special Education Teacher in Weaverville, NC

A Special Education Teacher position is available in Weaverville, NC, within a school setting. This contract role begins ASAP and continues through May 29, 2026, covering the full 2025–2026 school year. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to a caseload of 7 students in grades 2 through 5.
• Manage and lead a full resource classroom categorized as a Structured Support Classroom.
• Collaborate with two Instructional Assistants to deliver effective educational strategies tailored to individual student needs.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and school staff.

Qualifications:

• Current Special Education licensure in the State of North Carolina is required.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a resource classroom setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral supports.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
