This contract opportunity, located near Webster, NY, involves leading a 6:1:2 self-contained classroom and delivering instruction in all core academic subjects. You’ll work alongside dedicated professionals, providing individualized support and fostering growth for students who require specialized and compassionate teaching. The role begins on 10/13/2026 and continues until the district secures an internal hire.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility)
- Previous experience in a self-contained setting, ideally with secondary-level students
- Strong skills in delivering differentiated instruction across core subjects
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Excellent classroom management for complex needs settings
- Collaborative, communicative, and flexible approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, standards-based instruction to a 6:1:2 classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records and participate in regular team meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position, with hours from 7:15am to 2:45pm. You’ll work in a supportive school environment that values your expertise and commitment to student success.
