Grades 6 - 8 Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher in Wellsboro, PA

As a Special Education Teacher, you will make a direct impact, fostering growth and progress for 7th and 8th graders in a dedicated classroom environment. With a close-knit caseload of approximately 13 students to start (with potential to grow to 20), you'll be at the heart of shaping positive educational experiences and helping students thrive every day.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience teaching or supporting students in Grades 6–8 (experience with K–5 or 9–12 is a plus)
• Familiarity and commitment to emotional and behavioral support in middle-school settings
• Strong skills in differentiated instruction and development of IEPs
• Ability to foster a positive, encouraging classroom culture
• Collaborative spirit, ready to work with paraprofessionals, counselors, and families
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and caseloads

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to a diverse group of middle school students within an emotional support classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate records and progress documentation
• Utilize proactive behavior management strategies and support SEL (Social Emotional Learning)
• Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and other educational staff
• Contribute actively to student success, supporting individual strengths and growth areas

Enjoy working a daytime schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:10pm, and contribute your expertise through the end of the academic year (ASAP–6/5/26).
