Grades 6 - 8 Certified Special Education Teacher in Wellsboro, PA

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid PA Special Education Teacher Certification (Instructional I or II), or eligibility and commitment to obtain certification prior to the start date
• Experience working with middle school-aged students, preferably in an emotional support classroom
• Deep understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral management strategies, and instructional adaptations
• Able to implement structured routines while remaining flexible to student needs
• Strong commitment to positive reinforcement and relationship-building with students
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, administration, and families
• Emergency, temporary, or out-of-state certifications will not be accepted for this role

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and support a caseload currently at 13 students (potentially increasing to 20), fostering their academic, behavioral, and emotional growth
• Develop, implement, and monitor effective classroom routines focused on predictability and consistency
• Create an environment where positive reinforcement builds student confidence and engagement
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to develop individualized strategies for student success
• Manage IEP goals and data tracking, communicating progress with parents and support staff
• Participate in professional development and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices
