Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher in West Chester, PA

As a Special Education Teacher working with 6th to 8th graders, you'll play a key part in shaping student success through both push-in and pull-out service models. Your expertise will help create a positive, inclusive learning environment for a diverse group of students, fostering both academic and personal growth.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current PA Instructional I or Instructional II Certification in Special Education K-12, or eligibility to obtain one by end of July
• Commitment to serving middle school students with diverse learning abilities and needs
• Experience implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Familiarity with push-in and pull-out instructional strategies
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Dedication to continuous professional development
• Only fully certified candidates in PA will be considered at this time

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction—both in-class support and pull-out sessions—to students in grades 6-8
• Adapt lessons and differentiate materials to meet varied student needs
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records and data for IEP goals
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and support plans
• Participate in IEP meetings and assist in writing and revising IEPs as needed
• Create a supportive and motivating environment for all students

Position Details:

• Contract position beginning August 2026 through June 2027
• Full-time hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4:15pm (40 hours/week)
• Pay rate between $40 and $55 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
