Make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher in an onsite, full-time contract role starting August 24, 2026, and running through June 10, 2027. This position requires a strong command of instructional strategies, a commitment to ongoing differentiation, and robust classroom management abilities—especially for those who thrive in urban education settings. You'll design and deliver lesson plans that align with current state and district standards, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
You’ll fit well in this role if you possess:
- Active certification or licensure appropriate for your assigned caseload
- Bachelor’s degree (to qualify for an emergency teaching permit, if needed)
- Prior school-based experience in a similar setting
- Mastery of subject content and demonstrable instructional skill
- Reliable transportation for consistent onsite presence
- Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
- Strong classroom and behavioral management experience
- Flexibility with grade/community placement and comfort working in an urban district
- Availability to work the designated hours assigned to each school level, as scheduling cannot be modified
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing individualized lesson plans using formative assessment and differentiation
- Managing a dynamic classroom environment with structure and empathy
- Collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Upholding district policies and maintaining detailed student records
- Actively participating in IEP processes and meetings as needed
