Special Education Teacher in West Chester, PA

An exciting contract opportunity is available for a passionate Special Education Teacher eager to make a difference in the lives of young learners. This position involves working as an itinerant teacher, serving approximately 30 preschool-aged students with special education needs across various community preschools in the area. Guidance and training will be provided at the start of your assignment to help ensure a smooth transition into this rewarding role.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania certification in PK-4 and/or Special Education (emergency permits are not accepted for this role)
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred, ideally in early childhood or preschool settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with school teams and families
• Excellent organizational skills and adaptability, as you will travel between sites
• Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to preschoolers with a range of special education needs in community-based settings
• Travel to multiple preschool sites throughout the week to deliver individualized services
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), monitor student progress, and maintain documentation
• Collaborate with other professionals, including preschool teachers and related service providers
• Communicate regularly with families to ensure student needs are being met and encourage positive relationships

Position Details:

• Full-time, contract position (35 hours per week)
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Caseload of approximately 30 students in community preschools
