Special Education Teacher | West Chester, Pennsylvania

Make a meaningful impact as a contract Special Education Teacher supporting students at Main St. Elementary. This full-time position offers an opportunity to join a passionate community of educators dedicated to fostering growth and achievement for every learner. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through June 10, 2027, for 35 hours each week with onsite working hours from 8:30AM to 4PM.

Ideal candidates bring a passion for student success, adaptability, and expertise in managing both classroom instruction and behavioral needs.

Qualifications:

• Holds active Pennsylvania teacher certification or licensure for the required caseload
• Bachelor’s degree required (essential for emergency teaching permit eligibility)
• Completion of all PA clearances prior to start date
• Previous experience teaching in school settings, especially in urban environments
• Demonstrates strong behavioral and classroom management skills
• Mastery of subject matter, current instructional techniques, and resource materials
• Familiarity with current state and district educational standards
• Comfortable adapting to the needs of the district, school, and location
• Has access to reliable transportation
• Willing and able to work the designated 8:30AM-4PM schedule without accommodations

Responsibilities:

• Design engaging and differentiated lesson plans tailored to student needs
• Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with state and district guidelines
• Assess student progress using formative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and families
• Manage classroom behaviors and implement individualized behavior support plans as needed
