Grades 6 - 8 Grades K - 5 Special Education Teacher in West Chester, PA

An immediate opportunity is available for experienced Special Education professionals to support K-6 students in a dynamic, contract-based position near West Chester, PA. This full-time role involves floating between classrooms with a focus on both emotional and learning support, delivering essential education services to students with varying needs for the remainder of the school year, through June 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Instructional I or II certificate in K-12 Special Education for Pennsylvania is highly preferred.
• Emergency certification considered for candidates with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience and either current enrollment in a certification program or scheduled Praxis exam.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing cases and writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is essential.
• Strong adaptability, collaborative spirit, and ability to provide both emotional and learning support in a classroom setting.
• Experience working with students across grades K-6 is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Float between classrooms delivering targeted instruction, ensuring students receive the support outlined in their IEPs.
• Manage a caseload of students, developing, monitoring, and updating IEPs in compliance with district and state policies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to implement effective learning interventions and behavioral supports.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each student.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and staff professional development.

Candidates will engage in a 35–40-hour workweek for the duration of the assignment, with a competitive pay rate ranging from $39 to $55 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
