Qualifications & Experience:
- Active and valid teaching certification in Special Education (emergency certifications not accepted)
- Experience working with middle school students, ideally in a special education setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead instructor for a 6th grade classroom, delivering individualized and small group instruction
- Create and adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning needs and IEP goals
- Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers
- Engage regularly with parents and caregivers to relay progress and address concerns
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives to enhance the student experience
