Special Education Teacher - West Columbia, SC

Support students in reaching their full potential as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school environment close to West Columbia, SC. There is an immediate need for seven dedicated special education professionals to fill contract roles, working with elementary and middle school learners. Preference is given to educators experienced with self-contained classrooms, who are ready to foster growth, inclusion, and achievement.

Key qualifications and experience:

• Valid teaching license or certification in Special Education
• Previous experience as a special education teacher, preferably in self-contained settings
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Passion for supporting elementary and/or middle school students with diverse needs
• Collaborative approach to working with peers, support staff, and families
• Commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and engaging learning atmosphere

Main responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to maximize student success
• Develop, adapt, and deliver curriculum based on students’ unique needs
• Maintain accurate student records, monitor progress, and provide regular updates
• Support students in achieving social, behavioral, and academic goals
• Collaborate with related service providers, general educators, and administration
• Encourage positive behaviors and skills for lifelong learning
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and compliance activities
