A middle school special education teaching opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to provide long-term substitute support in West Hartford, CT. This position focuses on students in grades 6-8, delivering instruction in math, reading, writing, life skills, and social skills. The role requires flexibility and commitment as the duration is currently undetermined, potentially lasting several weeks or longer.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized academic and life skills instruction to middle school students
• Planning lessons and utilizing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Participating in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings
• Writing and updating IEP documentation based on student progress

Qualifications and requirements:

• Connecticut Special Education licensure for grades 6-8 is mandatory
• Experience working with middle school students diagnosed with autism is required
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to engage students with diverse learning needs

Work schedule and location:

• Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
