Step into a meaningful role this fall as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students in a resource room setting. This full-time, onsite position is designed to cover a maternity leave from late September through the end of December, providing continuity and expert instruction to a vibrant group of learners in grades 6-8. You’ll be working with a manageable caseload of 20 students, delivering individualized support and collaborating closely with general education colleagues.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification (required)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in a resource room or similar setting
  • Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted instruction and intervention to students on your caseload, ensuring each learner’s IEP goals are met
  • Maintain accurate records and provide thorough documentation for student progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and adaptations
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, needs, and achievements
  • Support a positive, encouraging classroom environment where all students feel welcomed and empowered
