Qualifications:
- Valid and active Connecticut Special Education Teacher License
- Compliance with all required certifications for teaching special education in Connecticut
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students as outlined in individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing accommodations and modifications as necessary
- Assess student needs, progress, and goals, maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure students’ academic and social-emotional success
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise in planning and goal setting
- Adapt materials and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles and abilities
- Maintain a structured, positive, and safe classroom environment for all students
- Actively engage in ongoing professional development and school team activities
