Special Education Teacher - West Hartford, Connecticut

This onsite role near West Hartford, CT, involves collaborating with dedicated teams to deliver individualized educational support and nurture diverse learners.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active Connecticut Special Education Teacher License
• Compliance with all required certifications for teaching special education in Connecticut
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students as outlined in individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing accommodations and modifications as necessary
• Assess student needs, progress, and goals, maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure students’ academic and social-emotional success
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise in planning and goal setting
• Adapt materials and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles and abilities
• Maintain a structured, positive, and safe classroom environment for all students
• Actively engage in ongoing professional development and school team activities
