Grades K - 5 Special Education Teacher - West Hartford, CT

Inspire young minds and make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher working with elementary students (grades K-5) in a resource and push-in classroom setting. This contract opportunity offers consistent hours—37.5 per week—starting as soon as possible and extending through June 10, 2027. You’ll play a vital role supporting students’ individual learning goals and collaborating with fellow educators.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Connecticut teaching license with 165 or 265 Special Education Certification
• DSAP certification may be considered for strong candidates
• Experience teaching or supporting students in grades K-5, especially in resource or push-in models
• Proficiency in IEP writing and case management
• Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction tailored to each student’s needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide case management and maintain accurate student records
• Work closely with classroom teachers, families, and support staff
• Adapt curriculum and strategies for diverse learning needs
• Foster a supportive and positive learning environment
• Participate in team meetings and professional development

Compensation: Enjoy a competitive hourly rate between $39 and $53, commensurate with experience and certification.
