Special Education Teacher - West Hartford, Connecticut

Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher endorsement or eligibility to obtain DSAP.
• Prior experience working with middle school students preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, accommodations, and differentiated instruction.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction and individualized support to students with special needs in a middle school environment.
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to student goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure holistic support.
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of supportive educational plans.
• Foster an inclusive and positive classroom community.
