Special Education Teacher - West Hartford, Connecticut

Make a difference in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in the West Hartford, Connecticut area! This contract opportunity provides the chance to support learners in a collaborative school setting while enjoying a structured weekday schedule. Work Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, with select early release Wednesdays ending at 1:15 PM.

Desired qualifications include:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education Endorsement
• At least 2 years of recent experience in a teaching role
• Relevant experience working with students requiring special education support
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to middle school students with diverse learning needs
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and support staff
• Collect data and evaluate student progress on an ongoing basis
• Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback to students and parents
• Foster a welcoming, positive learning atmosphere
• Participate in team meetings and professional development as required
