Special Education Teacher - West Valley City, UT

Qualifications & Certifications:

• Current Utah Special Education teaching license/certification is required
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting
• Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapting curriculum for diverse learning needs
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Passion for developing life skills and supporting functional academic growth

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for students in a K-3 Life Skills classroom
• Adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student goals, focusing on both academic and functional skill acquisition
• Collaborate closely with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure a comprehensive support system for each student
• Utilize both evidence-based teaching methods and a positive, patient approach
• Maintain accurate progress documentation and contribute to IEP meetings and planning
• Create a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
