Key Qualifications:
- Valid state special education teaching certification or eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies
- Effective communication and collaboration with families, staff, and related service providers
- Organizational skills and a proactive approach to student advocacy
- Prior school-based experience preferred, but not required
Core Responsibilities:
- Design individualized instructional programs tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver specialized instruction in various settings (inclusion, resource, or self-contained)
- Monitor and document student progress toward educational goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and progress updates
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support classroom inclusion
- Advocate for students and help foster a positive, supportive classroom atmosphere
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations
