Special Education Teacher in West Winfield, NY

This contract opportunity runs from September 2026 through June 2027 and is located near West Winfield, NY. The position focuses on resource and co-teaching in English Language Arts for grades 7–12, with primary emphasis on 7th and 9th grade. You'll work Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3 PM, engaging with approximately 15 students on your core caseload and additional students in the resource room.

Ideal candidates are knowledgeable in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), coordinating with related service staff, and familiar with educational programs such as ClearTrack for IEP management and Woodcock-Johnson assessments. Experience with these platforms is highly valued.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid New York State Educator License with Special Education Endorsement required
• At least 2 years of recent teaching experience in a special education setting preferred
• Proficiency in writing and implementing IEPs and conducting evaluations/re-evaluations
• Familiarity with ClearTrack and Woodcock-Johnson (Riverside Insights) preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and collaborative skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide resource and co-teaching support for English Language Arts in grades 7–12
• Manage a caseload of 15 students, with additional responsibilities for the resource room
• Coordinate IEP development, implementation, and ongoing progress monitoring
• Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers
• Utilize assessment tools to inform instruction and support student success
