Special Education Teacher | Westerville, Ohio

Help shape students’ educational journeys as an on-site Intervention Specialist supporting learners with special needs. This contract role is set in a collaborative, resource-rich school environment conveniently situated near Westerville, OH. As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll partner with an engaged team of fellow educators and support staff, providing both academic and behavioral guidance to ensure every student thrives.

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification/licensure as a Special Education Teacher (Intervention Specialist credentials preferred)
• Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs in K–12 settings
• Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and assessment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt teaching methods and learning materials to meet students’ unique needs
• Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to fostering an inclusive classroom

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction and interventions as outlined in student IEPs
• Modify the general education curriculum, assignments, or materials as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet each student’s goals
• Maintain clear and accurate records, document progress, and report on student performance
• Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and other school-based activities
